„Segal Center Award“ for School of Resistance

We are pleased to announce that IIPM‘s & NTGent‘s „School of Resistance“ has been selected as one of the 10 most significant theatre and performance projects worldwide for the „Segal Center Awards for Civic Engagement in the Arts“ – from 300 institutions from over 50 countries.
 
The report from the jury:
„In search of strategies of artistic resistance, Milo Rau, NTGent and IIPM – International Institute of Political Murder founded a globally networked „School of Resistance“ as a hybrid livestream debate series. As a symbolic institution of the future, the initiative examines aesthetic practices of resistance. Activists and artists discuss art as a transformative, reality-creating practice.“ Full report here.

 

We would like to congratulate the School of Resistance dramaturges Eline Banken and Kasia Wojcik, founder Milo Rau, all the guest speakers and the entire team! The awards ceremony will take place on January 22nd, 6:00 pm (CET) time in New York (livestream).
 
The next „School of Resistance“ joins forces with Florian Malzacher’s „Art of Assembly“, Münchner Kammerspiele & brut Wien. On January 29th, 7:00 pm (CET) Isabelle Fremeaux and Jay Jordan (Laboratory of Insurrectionary Imagination) discuss with Kasia Wojik and Milo Rau (School of Resistance) the Pitfalls of Representation: Assemblies in Theatre.
